Debbie A. Gunter, RN, FNP-BC, ACHPN, is a family nurse practitioner and hospice and palliative care nurse practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Florida State University, her master’s degree in adult health-critical care from Emory University, and her family nurse practitioner certification from the University of Missouri. Debbie is a nurse practitioner in the Cognitive Neurology Clinic and the Integrated Memory Care Clinic at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, Georgia, where she sees patients with a primary diagnosis of dementia, and provides follow-up care, medication management, palliative care, and clinical teaching for patients and families living with a dementia diagnosis. Previously, she helped develop the palliative care service at Emory Healthcare. She is also on the faculty at the Emory Nell Hodgson School of Nursing, where she teaches undergraduate and graduate nursing students in the areas of palliative care, geriatrics, and mental health.

Debbie has been recognized for her outstanding achievements in nursing by multiple organizations for many years. Debbie is a well-known invited national and international speaker and has presented over 600 nursing seminars across the country in the areas of geriatrics, medical-surgical nursing, and palliative care.
